Drawn together in darkness, Catherine and Sean find the beginning of something lasting but with a price on Catherine’s head, that beginning might be all they get in this thrilling sci-fi romance.

This steady to fast paced and smooth flowing plot keeps readers on their toes with lots of suspense, action and romance. The author captures the imagination with well written scenes and images that bring the story to life while the fascinating world ensures that the reader’s come back for more. The characters are strong, compelling and grab the reader’s attention from the very beginning and the well orchestrated suspense and action adds lots of thrills to the story.

Catherine and Sean’s attraction to each other couldn’t be more inconvenient for them. Catherine doesn’t like mercy ships or the courtesans that work on them and Sean is one of those courtesans. The reader can’t help but get caught up in their relationship as they work through emotional issues with some interesting help from the rest of the crew. The crew’s loyalty and friendship for each other adds lots of depth to the story making them seem like a family and the reader feels as if they are right there with them on their adventures which makes them cheer, cry or fight along with them.

Spine tingling tension builds throughout the story as the danger escalates through numerous attempts on Catherine’s life and the fascinating world and uniquely unconventional characters make for a refreshing change and add lots of their own special charm to each story. I thoroughly enjoyed visiting the crew of the Bonnie Belle again and so far their conclusions are unique but and fit each couple perfectly and I can’t wait for their next adventure.
Well I've just finished the second book in the Tales from the Edge series and it was great to be back with the crew of the Bonnie Belle. Once again this floating Mercy ship is in space on a mission to bring comfort and relaxation to remote mining communities but this time a lone life support pod is found near an exploded space ship. The crew of the Belle rescue it and it's occupant Catherine Rodgers but there's a lot at stake and an unknown enemy is coming to make sure the job of keeping Catherine permanently quiet is finished and as soon as possible!
Sean Harrison has been through a lot and now spends his days working as a Courtesan onboard one of the Guilds ships. Oh he realises that not everyone understands the true benefit of what he does but he has no reason to feel ashamed and in point of fact the benefits of the type of therapy he brings to his female clients is something he is rightly proud of. As the Belles acting medic when a nearby ship explodes and it's sole survivor is rescued it's up to him to tend to her but Catherine is the sort of woman that gets under Sean's skin and it's been a long time since that happened ! Catherine has no reason to approve of the type of people onboard the Belle as her ex husband left her for a Courtesan but spending time with the crew enables her to really see that no matter what the job they are still just human beings trying to survive and achieve a better life. Catherine has vital information about a conspiracy that is costing lives and it's imperative she gets to the proper authorities but it's clear whoever wants her dead will keep trying which puts everyone in danger. Sean and Catherine may be attracted to each other but how could two such different people ever hope to have a future together ? Besides the danger that stalks Catherine is far from past and now it's up to the crew of the Bonnie Belle to make a stand!
I really enjoy these stories and it was such fun to catch up with these diverse and colourful characters. Last time the story focussed on a murder mystery whilst throwing in the romance between Sam and Daniel and it was lovely to catch up with them and so amusing as they still struggle to be discreet about their relationship. The author writes with such humour but it's not in your face no it's much more subtle and works really well. As for the romance here it was a delight to read about Sean who has previously seemed a little subdued and clearly as a slightly more mature Courtesan knows his time working is running out. The simple idea of pairing him up with a mature responsible woman such as Catherine opens up a world of possibilities. She has obviously thrown her energy into her career and it's high time she had some fun and who would know more about showing a girl a good time then the experienced Sean? I loved the way their relationship slowly built and thought it so amusing as Catherine constantly second guessed herself whilst the ever knowing Sean saw through all her machinations! Great story and I'm looking forward to more from this author.

The author weaves a great crew the reader is thrilled to join. Great to read through to the finish port. Sex and romance in a good story
Read the first book in the series and immediately bought this one. The characters are great and just keep getting better as their personalities are fleshed out. Now, I can't wait for the next book.
